Season-Tech Windows

Minimizing air infiltration is critical to maintaining a comfortable environment inside your home. Season-Tech windows by Sunrise allow only .07 CFM of air leakage per minute!

Leaky windows cause drafty homes. Season-Tech windows greatly minimize air leaks with numerous air barriers designed into our advanced sill design. They prevent air from forcing its way into your home. This is critical to your comfort.

Poorly designed windows don’t have built-in airlocks, weather stripping, and barriers necessary to keep air from forcing its way in. Without these design features air will push between the sash meeting rails and around the sash perimeter where it meets the frame and sill.

We know how uncomfortable a home with leaky windows will be. So we loaded the Season-Tech window with weather barriers that go far beyond the industry standard and other manufacturer’s window designs.

Season-Tech windows are over 2 times more airtight than the industry average range of traditional VINYL residential high performance double hung windows such as Alside, Simonton, and Champion from .11 CFM to .21 CFM.* For example, it would take a combination of more than 8 Season-Tech windows to leak as much air as just FOUR of the industry average traditional vinyl residential high performance double hung windows. (Industry average of air infiltration of one traditional vinyl window is 144 oz./min., whereas Bainbridge windows only allow 67.2oz./min..)

Season-Tech windows are over 3 times more airtight than the industry average range of traditional WOOD residential double hung windows such as Pella, Marvin, Jeld-Wen, and Andersen from .12 CFM to .30 CFM.* For example, it would take a combination of more than 13 Season-Tech windows to leak as much air as just FOUR of the industry average traditional wood residential double hung windows. (Industry average of air infiltration of one traditional wood window is 220.8 oz./min., whereas Season-Tech windows only allow 67.2 oz./min..)

The Season-Tech was designed to deliver year ‘round energy savings. It exceeds industry performance standards.

Sunrise purchases the best available glass products from leaders in the industry who focus exclusively on glass fabrication. One popular Season-Tech glass package comes with the performance ratings listed below and shown in the NFRC label at right. Other energy efficient packages are also available.
How to read an NFRC label:

A. ENERGY STAR® Climate Zone Qualification Map — Specifies the climate zones in which this window is ENERGY STAR qualified.

B. U-Factor — The lower the U-Factor the better the window’s overall thermal performance. The glass package, the window’s material, and its components all affect the rating.

C. Visible Transmittance — This is a measurement of how much light comes through the window. It is expressed as a number between 0 and 1. The higher the VT the better.

D. Solar Heat Gain Coefficient — This is a measurement of how well products block heat caused by sunlight. The rating is expressed as a number between 0 and 1. The lower the number the better, which also means less solar heat is transmitted through the window.

E. Condensation Resistance — This is a measurement of how well the window resists condensation on the glass. The higher the number the better.

The Season-Tech 3/4” Low-E Plus™ Glass package with argon gas and Intercept® Spacer is Energy Star qualified in North, North-Central, & South-Central zones. Upgrade of SOLAR LOW-E qualifies window in South zone and provides: U-factor: 0.29, SHGC: 0.21, Visible Transmittance: 0.50
